Volunteer opportunities are one of the most exciting aspects of Outdoor Heritage. You can participate in the meaningful work that currently is underway in Pennsylvania’s Alleghenies to conserve our natural resources, clean up our streams, and teach kids about the wonders of the natural world. You’ll meet great people and have a lot of fun!

We are looking for people willing to:

  • Help kids learn how to fish.
  • Be greeters or ambassadors at events.
  • Serve as safety boaters.
  • Wear the costumes of conservation mascots like National Wildlife Federation’s Ranger Rick™ and Smokey Bear at special events.
  • Participate in other activities.

One event that requires a lot of volunteers is Outdoor Adventures at the Summer’s Best Two Weeks camp at Quemahoning Lake. Every year 1,200 elementary-school students attend and we need volunteers willing to help these kids have hands-on experiences with their natural and cultural heritage.

To become a volunteer, contact the organization of your choice or click here to volunteer for Outdoor Adventures.
